Tyranny of state discourages business

Do you remember my warnings in November of 20l3?

On the basis of the experience in Massachusetts, in 2013 I warned that the redefinition of marriage in Illinois would result in increased intimidation, bullying, and general hostility toward citizens who don't embrace the sin of homosexuality.

I also warned of an increasing negative impact on virtually everything in the "public square." That would include conservative religions, politics, the media, public health, hospitals, domestic violence, business and employment, and the judicial system. Almost daily, there are news stories of this happening.

The hostility toward business, with the denial of property rights (which are guaranteed under our constitution) is now being displayed toward a local bed and breakfast. The owners are being bullied with a huge fine in an attempt to get them to abandon their morally upright business policy in favor of an immoral one advocated by the state.

This action is attempting to deprive industrious individuals of the fruits of their labors. It is tyrannical, and it will tend to destroy the incentive of other industrious persons to develop and improve their businesses.

If this governmental attack works, people will have another reason for leaving the fiscally failing state of Illinois. Will the last one leaving please turn out the lights?
