District 125 board president wins Human Rights award

Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125 Board of Education President Bruce Lubin has been chosen as the 2016 recipient of the Human Rights Medallion Award from the Chicago chapter of the American Jewish Committee.

The award is given annually to individuals or couples whose professional and civic endeavors advance AJC's mission of enhancing the well-being of Jewish people and advancing human rights and democratic values for all.

Lubin, who joined the school board in 2002 and has served as its president since 2007, is the executive managing director and president of Illinois Commercial Banking for The PrivateBank. He has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, and has been involved in a number of civic and philanthropic groups.

He is a vice president of AJC Chicago, and also participates on the boards of Gateway for Cancer Research, Gilda's Club of Chicago, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, and the Civic Consulting Alliance.

Lubin will be honored by AJC Chicago at a dinner Monday, June 27, at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago. The dinner begins at 7 p.m., with cocktails at 6 p.m.
