College of DuPage Board to Vote on New College of DuPage President

The College of DuPage Board of Trustees will vote during a special May 2 Board meeting to select one of three Presidential finalists to serve as the sixth president in the College's 49-year history. The College conducted a nationwide search to fill the position, with more than 350 applicants submitting.

"We look forward to bringing this months-long process to a successful conclusion," said COD Board Chairman Deanne Mazzochi. "We have been moved by the thoughtful feedback the Board has received from all of our stakeholders. That input, and Monday's public comment period, will guide our ultimate decision. Monday's meeting offers each member of the Board a unique opportunity to discuss this weighty issue with their fellow Board members, and ultimately select a new President. This is a very exciting time for the College as we move forward into our 50th year."

"The faculty of College of DuPage fully support and appreciate the decisive action being taken by the Board of Trustees to bring this process to a conclusion by meeting on Monday to select the next President of College of DuPage. This is the most important decision that can be made to move the College forward. We have had ample opportunity to provide input to the decision and appreciate the quick response by the Trustees. We have been in a state of limbo for far too long. The students and community deserve progress," said Glenn Hansen, President of the Faculty Association.

The College of DuPage Presidential Search Committee unanimously provided three Presidential finalists to the Board. The search committee included a wide range of volunteers affiliated with the business, legal, financial, government and education communities in District 502, as well as a voting student representative, taxpayers, and members of the COD faculty, administration, and managerial and classified staff. The Board conducted interviews, held public candidate forums and collected extensive feedback.
