What is this NEW PRESCHOOL all about?
"Creativity is intelligence having fun!" This Albert Einstein quote gave all the inspiration for the start of Color Me Bright Preschool.
Preschool gives children a head start on their learning, and establishes the root of their cognitive development. At a very young age, the brain develops from hands-on experience of play and discovery. With an importance on creativity in the classroom, there is a focus on the "process" of learning rather than the "product". When both hemispheres of the brain are required to work together, genuine cognitive learning develops. Early childhood is the absolute crucial time for this cross-referencing to occur!
Color Me Bright has developed the B.R.I.G.H.T. Curriculum for their creative learners. It emphasizes the importance of activating the whole body to create new understanding of the traditional learning concepts. Instruction is provided every day in the form of art, music, dance, and drama, encouraging students to learn through self-exploration and interactive activities. For example, in just one creative movement activity, students can explore directions, levels, speed, weight... and the list goes on! This is so important because physical activity is a key factor in the early development of the brain, not just fine motor control.
Beyond research and statistics, we know children love playing! They naturally want to paint pictures of Transformers, dress up like Elsa, or build the tallest Lego tower ever. At Color Me Bright, children are encouraged to explore and discover every day. In addition to two preschool classrooms, the Color Me Bright facility includes both a separate dance room and art room to spark the creative bug in every child!
