Big Trucks Rolling Into Palatine May 7

Palatine Park District presents Big Trucks, a free community event, on Saturday, May 7, 2016 from 10:00am to 1:00pm in the Family Aquatic Center Parking Lot, located at 340 East Palatine Road, Palatine. Parking will be available in the Community Center Parking Lot located at 250 East Wood Street, Palatine.

This entertaining family event allows children of all ages the opportunity to see big trucks and vehicles up close. They will even be able to sit in the driver's seat in some of the trucks. This year's event will also include goody bags for the first 1,000 children, a free prize raffle, and a craft provided by Lakeshore Learning. The Palatine Public Library will be on hand as well with coloring sheet handouts, books about trucks, and some friendly puppets. The Chick-fil-A food truck will be on hand passing out free chicken sandwiches, courtesy of Chick-fil-A-Kildeer and the Palatine Park District's Family Aquatic Center concession stand will be open, selling family friendly lunch items.

Groups currently scheduled to showcase their vehicles include: Groot Recycling, Palatine Police Department, ABC Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric, Community Consolidated School District 15, Village of Palatine Public Works Department, Palatine Fire Department, A Express Towing, Prairie Material, Palatine Township, Jewel-Osco, MBL Recycling, Rogner's Garage, Palatine Emergency Management Agency, Matusek Enterprises, Way To Go Limousine, Servepro, and Palatine Park District.

The Palatine Park District partners with many local organizations and companies to present this free event for the Palatine community. In addition to Lakeshore Learning's craft table and the food truck from Chick-fil-A-Kildeer, many gold-level sponsors are supporting this event, including: A+ Day School, ABC Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric, AMITA Health, Arlington Toyota/Scion, Consumers Credit Union, Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, Palatine Public Library District, Precision Dental Partners, SportClips-Palatine, and St. Theresa School.
