'The Beatles: Band of the Sixties' comes to Batavia library May 5

Aaron Krerowicz will talk about "The Beatles: Band of the Sixties" at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave.

During this New Lyceum Lecture Series program, Krerowicz will explore the music of the Beatles beginning with the band's seminal visits to Hamburg, continuing through Beatlemania, and concluding with the production of Abbey Road.

The presentation includes audio clips of the Beatles' music and excerpts from interviews with the band members.

Krerowicz has written three books about the Beatles: "The Beatles & the Avant-Garde," "The Beatles: Band of the Sixties" and "From the Shadow of JFK: The Rise of Beatlemania in America." In addition to his sharing his knowledge of Beatles history in the United States, Krerowicz has lectured in London and Liverpool. He holds a master's degree in music from Boston University.

The lecture is free; however, registration is required.
