Baseball: LaMotte pitches Warren to NSC Lake win
Sam LaMotte threw 4 scoreless innings, striking out four while giving up 1 hit and no walks, as Warren's baseball team defeated Zion-Benton 11-0 in five innings on Wednesday.
The Blue Devils improved to 14-5 and 5-3 in the North Suburban Lake Division.
Ryan Davila was 2-for-3 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI for Warren. Michael Rosenberg and Cal Poremba had 2 hits each.
Wauconda 11, North Chicago 0: Connor Olson threw a five-inning 1-hitter, striking out 12, as the Bulldogs improved to 6-0 in the North Suburban Prairie.
Olson also went 1-for-2 at the plate with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Robert Aviles was 1-for-2 with a double, 2 walks, 2 runs and 4 RBI.
Antioch 14, Round Lake 3: John Neville allowed just 1 hit over 3 scoreless innings pitched, as the Sequoits won the North Suburban Prairie contest.
Antioch (6-2 NSC Prairie) scored 11 runs in the first three innings. The Sequoits got an RBI double by Ben Gutke and a run-scoring single by Thomas Boeh in the first inning. A five-run second featured a two-run double by Jake Emer, an error, an RBI single by Austin Marsiglio and an RBI single by Boeh.
Gutke, Connor Kaiser and Boeh all went 2-for-2. Tim Otter and J.R. Johnson also doubled.
Round Lake got a double from Negrete McGinley.
