Get rid of unwanted drugs Saturday

Activist groups are teaming with suburban police departments to collect unwanted prescription and over-the-counter drugs Saturday. People can safely get rid of such drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mundelein, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire and Vernon Hills police stations. The first 20 participants will receive free prescription drug lockboxes. The effort is part of the federal government's 11th annual National Take Back Initiative. The Mundelein police station is at 221 N. Lake St. The Buffalo Grove police station is at 46 Raupp Blvd. The Lincolnshire station is at 1 Olde Half Day Road. The Vernon Hills station is at 754 Lakeview Parkway.
