Willow House celebrates 18 years with spring gala

This year's Willow House Spring Gala, "Lights, Camera, Action!" will be from 6:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Briarwood Country Club, 355 Deerfield Road, Deerfield.

The event will feature gourmet cuisine, live music, a combined $3,500 cash prize raffle, live and silent auctions, celebration beverages, and a special award ceremony honoring Scott Bauer and The Lauri S. Bauer Foundation with the 2016 Ambassador of Hope Award.

The Lauri S. Bauer Foundation is the first foundation in the Chicago area whose expressed mission is to support grieving children and families.

Willow House provides unique peer support programs and services for children, teens and families who are grieving the death of their mother, father, spouse, brother, sister or child. If a community is struck by a tragedy or a school has experienced a death, Willow House immediately calls to provide support to the school and community, guiding them through the process of responding to the student and family needs.

Through donations, as well as corporate and foundation support, Willow House services are provided at no cost to families, making the success of fundraising efforts that much more important.

As a Willow House teen once said: "The most valuable thing I learned from Willow House group is that I am not alone and there is hope."

"We are proud to have directly supported thousands of grieving children and families over the past 18 years, and the many more served through our School and Community Outreach Programs," founder and Executive Director Stefanie Norris said. "Willow House services are invaluable and calls for our support grow each year."

Willow House is proud and grateful to have local individual and corporate sponsorship support from Platinum Sponsor Antares Capital; Gold Sponsors Compass Health Center and First Merit Bank; and Silver Sponsors Heritage Flooring and Kavita and Anoop Vermani.

Tickets to the gala are $125 each, available online or at the door. For tickets and information, visit www.willowhouse.org or call (847) 236-9300.

Raffle tickets to win the $2,000 grand prize are available online. Ticketholders need not be present to win.
