Glenbard East 7, Bartlett 0:
Winning pitcher Michael Sebby, who struck out eight and allowed 3 hits in 6-plus innings, homered and drove in 4 runs for the Rams (13-6, 3-1 Upstate Eight Valley). Richard Masciopinto had 2 RBI and Phil Abruzino went 2-for-4 as Glenbard East won for the sixth time in seven games.
West Chicago 5, East Aurora 1:
Garrett Hosticka struck out 10, walked none and allowed 3 hits for the Wildcats, who won in the Upstate Eight Valley. Justin Yackey, who had 2 RBI, Hosticka and Rob Szulczewski each had 2 hits.
Naperville North 6, Glenbard North 5:
The Huskies (6-9, 4-6) scored all their runs in the top of the first inning, and then held off a seventh-inning rally from Glenbard North (5-14, 2-8). Matt Schwartz, who drove in 2 runs, Colin Rivard, Paul Dobravec and Trevor Wojtyla had 2 hits apiece. Jack Whitley pitched 5 innings for the win. Zach Heck, Neal Shah, Alex Taylor, Mark Cerabona, Alex Murray and Nick Frawley all had 2 hits for the Panthers.
Naperville Central 6, WW South 0:
Charlie Walzer dominated on the mound for the Redhawks (17-4, 11-2 DuPage Valley), striking out 11, walking one and allowing only 3 hits. Ryan Eiermann went 3-for-3 with a 3-run triple for Naperville Central, which scored all its runs in the bottom of the sixth to break a scoreless tie against WW South (5-11, 3-10).
Lisle 11, Plano 1:
The Lions (14-8, 6-3) scored a run in the bottom of the fifth inning to sweep in the Interstate Eight Conference. Max Sokolowski went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI. Christian Grego, David White and Alec Van Volkenburg had 2 RBI while Trevor Stitt and Mark McGrath had 2 hits in support of winning pitcher Zach Heidenry.
Waubonsie Valley 5, Metea Valley 2:
Complete-game winner Jacob Hennessy struck out four and scattered 5 hits for the Warriors (12-7, 7-6) in their DuPage Valley Conference win. Jason Neville went 2-for-3. Blake Honda and Ryan Mecaskey each had 2 hits for Metea Valley (9-10, 5-8).
Neuqua Valley 6, Joliet Catholic 3:
The Wildcats (11-6) won in nonconference action after breaking out to a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the first. Eric Nelson, Kevin Ringlein and Will Drake each had 2 hits. Winning pitching James Kulak and Mason LeBreck combined on the mound.
