Queen of the Rosary Daisy Troop Purchases Buddy Bench for School

Queen of the Rosary joins a growing number of schools across the country with the addition of a Buddy Bench purchased by the Daisy Scouts (K & 1st grade). The Daisy troop, led by Mrs. Jamie Villagomez, raised a total of $6,749.00 in cookie sales, enough to purchase the Buddy Bench, as well as a second bench that Santina Papucci.'s grandfather is going to make.

At a recent all school assembly at the Elk Grove School, Mrs. Villagomez told students the Buddy Bench is a place to foster friendship and eliminate loneliness on the playground.

Associate Pastor, Fr. Michael Owen, blessed the students and the bench, which was unassembled, after morning prayers.

The Daisy Scouts sold a total of 1,711 boxes of Girl Scout cookies. 67 of those boxes, or Gifts of Caring, will be sent to troops. The top seller was Jorja V., who sold 422 boxes!
