Scorched Earth Day Fest

Scorched Earth Brewery in Algonquin celebrates an entire day of beer and fun from 3 to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 23, in the parking lot of the brewery. The Scorched Earth Day Festival includes live music by the Mississippi Stranglers, Tara Terra, Church Booty and The Moose as well as beer trivia and ping-pong. The beer lineup features a full menu in addition to new sour releases and several firkins. Local food vendors include Duke's Alehouse, Buddyz Pizzeria, BBQ King Smokehouse, and Cary Ale House and Brewing Co. $10 cover includes a commemorative cup. Bell's Brewery at Tokio Pub

Sample Michigan-based Bell's Brewery's brews at Tokio Pub during a four-course beer dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 25. Featured beers are Amber Ale, Oberon Ale, Oatismobile Ale and Special Double Cream Stout. Dinner includes the crawfish Scotch egg; Buffalo mozzarella; Thai style porchetta; and Twinkie "beeramisu," made with mascarpone, double cream stout caramel and strawberries. $45 per person, tax and gratuity not included. Marcels and Marche's GNO

Marcels and Marche in Glen Ellyn are partnering for a midweek pop-up girls night out from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 27. Begin the evening at Marche with a wine and cheese pairing. Then move two doors down to Marcels and cook up a fine meal with friends. The menu includes a Caesar salad with house-made croutons and sauteed chicken paillards with tomato, portabella mushrooms, caramelized onions and fresh mozzarella, as well as Grand Marnier chocolate mousse. $65 per person.
