Want to help songbirds?

Planting a native tree or shrub can help birds flooding Illinois on their migration north. Conserve Lake County will take orders online through Monday, April 25. Besides many native species of trees and shrubs, many wildflowers, grasses, and sedges are available during the spring plant sale. Orders can be picked up at the Conserve Lake County office, 32492 N. Almond Road, south of Route 120 in the Almond Marsh Forest Preserve, from: 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 12; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 13 and 14. While some plants also will be available for purchase on site, online ordering is suggested for best selection. Call (847) 548-5989 or visit http://www.conservelakecounty.org/.
