MCC Concert Band and Chorus to perform Sunday

McHenry County College will host a Band and Chorus Spring Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 24, in the Luecht Conference Center at McHenry County College, 8900 Route 14 in Crystal Lake.

The MCC Concert Band, under the direction of Paige Lush, Ph.D., will perform "An American in Paris" by George Gershwin, "Lincolnshire Posy" by Percy Grainger, "Night in the Tropics" by Louis M. Gottschalk, and "Toccata Marziale" by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Songs performed by the full chorus include: "Sure On This Shining Night" by Morten Lauridsen, "Ah Quanto รจ vero," by Marc Antonio Cesti, "Up to the Mountain (MLK Song)" by Patty Griffin.

The soloists are tenor Josh Katz and sopranos Maria Villec and Casey Wilk.

The eight-member MCC Chorus Ensemble will perform four selections, including "It Was a Lover and His Lass" by Thomas Morley, "O Bella Fusa" by Orlando di Lasso, and "Remember" from "Two Rossetti Songs" by Stephen Chatman.
