Girls soccer: Geneva's Owens gets 100th career win

Geneva girls soccer coach Megan Owens celebrated her 100th varsity win as the Vikings (8-1-1, 2-0) took care of Larkin 7-0 in Upstate Eight River action Tuesday. Kyleigh Dominguez helped Owens clinch the win with 4 goals and 1 assist while Jenna Dominguez had 1 goal and 1 assist. Maddy Rapach-Lagowski and Liv Tegge also found the net and Maddie Parise dished 1 assist. Keeper Emma Harkleroad didn't need any saves for the shutout.

Bartlett 3, West Chicago 0: The Hawks (12-3-1, 2-0) upped their win streak to 7 after an UEC Valley win featured Shelley Lyjak's 2 goals and Mariela Alba's 2 assists. Shaelen Kaiser also tallied a goal while Jenna Dombrowski had 1 assist. Keeper Teagan Noesen's 2 saves notched a shutout.

Batavia 7, Elgin 0: Despite 15 saves from Hannah Erickson in net, Elgin (3-7, 0-2) fell to the Bulldogs (10-2, 2-0) in UEC River action.

CL South 3, Jacobs 0: The Gators (8-5, 1-0) snapped a 3-match skid with a Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win over the Golden Eagles (5-3, 0-1). Courtney Sengstock and Jessica Schoenfeldt each had 1 goal and 1 assist while Brandie Minogue added an assist. Annika Sevcik locked down a shutout in goal with 6 saves.

Cary-Grove 4, McHenry 0: Kelly Stayart's 2 goals led the Trojans (6-1-1, 1-0) to their first FVC Valley win of the season. Alex Ahirhart and Natalie Gallant also scored goals while Natalie Bethers and Genna Sobeiszczyk and Rosie Townsley added assists.

Burlington Central 8, North Boone 0: The Rockets (10-3, 7-0) were up 6-0 by halftime in this Big Northern East win as Jordan King's 3 goal, 1 assist effort did the trick in the first half. Elizabeth Gousios had 2 goals while Sydney Pryor had 1 goal and 1 assist. Also scoring goals were Karla Ascencio and Maricruz Sandoval while Alexis Rosa, Anna McMahon, Megan Majewski and McKenzie Freeman each had 1 assist. Keeper Erin Rafferty had 1 save for the shutout.

Westminster Christian 9, Keith Country Day 2: Mattea Huerta and Lexi Kuhlman both had hat tricks during a Northeastern Athletic win for the Warriors (2-6, 1-2). Keely Frens, Mel Izquierdo and Seychelles Revan also scored goals.

Kaneland 1, Yorkville 1: The Knights (8-3-1, 2-1-1) looked to have a Northern Illinois Big XII East game locked up until the Foxes scored in the final minute to force a tie. Holly Collingbourne was assisted by Kiandra Powell on Kaneland's only goal.

Woodstock North 2, Hampshire 1 (OT): The Whip-Purs (2-7, 0-1) let a 1-goal halftime lead slip as the Thunder stole this FVC Fox game in extra time. Catie Kochanski provided Hampshire's only goal thanks to an assist from Meghan McIntyre. Alana Hatanaka nailed down 20 saves in net.

Grayslake Central 4, Dundee-Crown 1: Heily Ramirez's goal was the only highlight for the Chargers (4-6) in this FVC crossover loss. Alyssa Moreno was credited with an assist and goalie Taylor Gonio provided 5 saves.

Woodlands 5, Elgin Academy 1: Emma May provided the only goal for the Hilltoppers (0-5) in a Independent School League loss. Goalkeeper Maddy Williams-Larson tallied 3 saves.
