Grant students rehearse for 'Mary Poppins'

Dress rehearsals are in full swing at Grant Community High School as students gear up for Friday's opening performance of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's "Mary Poppins."

The musical takes place in 1910 England and tells the story of the nanny who uses a combination of magic and common sense to teach the Banks family how to value each other again.

Same-day ticket sales start one hour before the performance at the door with a cost of $9 for adults and $7 for students and senior citizens.

Show times are 7 p.m. Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23, and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 24. Performances take place at the Grant Community High School Auditorium, 285 East Grand Ave. in Fox Lake.

Also, the National Honor Society and Fox Lake/Round Lake Rotary are hosting a spaghetti dinner before the Friday performance. Anyone purchasing dinner gets a $2 coupon discount for the show.
