Softball: Hall leads St. Charles East over Elgin

Jordan Hall hit 2 home runs, had 4 RBI and threw a 2-hitter with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks Monday to lead the St. Charles East softball team to a 14-2 win in five innings over Elgin in an Upstate Eight River game in St. Charles.

Sarah Kreiner (2 hits, RBI), Rylee Stout (2 hits, Maddie Candre (2 hits, 2 RBI), Katie Kolb (2B, 3 runs) and Kelly Rinker (2B, RBI) also contributed to the offense for the Saints (12-1, 4-1).

Madison Latham had a double and 2 RBI for Elgin. Dannah Perryman suffered the loss in the circle.

Bartlett 5, Batavia 2: Elyse Hickey had 3 doubles and an RBI to lead the Hawks (8-4, 5-1) to an Upstate Eight win. Amber Pagan (RBI), Danielle Kleeman (RBI) and Danielle Kirby each added doubles for Bartlett. Pagan was the winning pitcher with relief help from Kirby. Losing pitcher Jaelen Lisberg had a double for Batavia.

Geneva 13, Larkin 0: Rachel Fanella and Emily Plocinski combined on a five-inning no-hitter for the Vikings (9-4, 5-2) in this UEC River win, Fanella was also 2-for-2 with a double while Sarah Baurer added a double, Alissa Dierks and Katelyn Keller hit home runs and Annika Radabaugh had 3 RBI.

St. Edward 10, Walther Christian 4: Sarah Mendoza (2B, 3B, RBI), Emily Stapay (2 hits, RBI), Allison Stratman (2 hits, RBI) and Jessy Kramp (2 hits, 3B, 3 RBI) led St. Edward (7-3) to this Metro Suburban crossover win. Stapay was the winning pitcher.

McHenry 8, Dundee-Crown 6: Megan Emerson and Claire Weeks had doubles and Andrea Conway 2 RBI for Dundee-Crown (7-8, 2-3) in this Fox Valley Conference loss. Sydney Ruggles (8 Ks, 2 BBs) suffered the loss in the circle.

CL South 4, Cary-Grove 1: In the FVC, Christine Toniolo had 2 hits with a home run and 2 RBI for the Gators (3-5, 1-4). Carly Chovanec (2 hits, 2B), Taylor Kassel (2 hits) and Samantha Burgard (2B) also contributed for Crystal Lake South. Chloe Skorija picked up the win in the circle, allowing just 3 hits. Krissy Weber took the loss for Cary-Grove (4-7, 2-2).

Aurora Christian 12, ICCP 2: Tori Camarano allowed just 4 hits with 8 strikeouts and 2 walks and had 2 hits and a double to lead the Eagles (1-6) to their first win of the season in this nonconference game. Grace Folino (2 hits, RBI), Millie Britt (2B), Emily Cartland (2 RBI), Brianna Rossi (2 hits, 3 RBI) and Becca Cloyd (2 hits, RBI) also contributed to the win.

ACC 10, Guerin 0: Dani Brown had a grand slam home run to lead the Chargers (9-7) to a Metro Suburban crossover win. Aurora Central also got 2 hits from Val Litrenta, Bridget Butler (RBI) and Jessica Eallonardo (3 RBI). Paige Miller struck out 7 and allowed just 3 hits to earn the win.
