Spectacular Sunday for March for Babies in Naperville

Naperville's downtown Riverwalk is always a great place for a stroll, particularly on a spectacular spring weekend.

That beauty wasn't lost on the thousands of walkers who gathered there Sunday morning for a cause dear to them: the March for Babies sponsored by the March of Dimes.

The walk — one of the first such fundraisers of the year — raises money for programs to help more moms have healthy pregnancies and fund research to combat premature birth and birth defects.

The March of Dimes has been conducting special events for more than 60 years, ranging from auctions and galas to walks, all to fund cutting-edge research and programs.

Those who couldn't attend Sunday's walk but still want to contribute to the cause may visit www.marchofdimes.org.
