Baseball: Glenbard North, Montini, Lake Park win

Glenbard North 5, Naperville Central 2:

Mark Cerabona scattered 5 hits while coming within an out of a complete game for the Panthers (3-9, 1-4) in the DuPage Valley Conference win. Zach Heck, who picked up the save, doubled and drove in 2 runs. Michael Nerger went 2-for-3 for Naperville Central (9-4, 3-2).

Montini 6, St. Rita 3:

Alex Luka keyed a 3-run bottom of the sixth inning for the Broncos (10-3, 2-2), driving in 2 runs with a single in the Chicago Catholic League victory. Jake Rosley closed out the win in the top of the seventh to cap the complete-game effort.

Lake Park 7, Waubonsie Valley 1:

The Lancers (8-2, 4-2) took two of three in the DuPage Valley Conference series as A.J. Ackerley pitched a complete game with 10 strikeouts. Joe Kennedy, who drove in 3 runs, and Michael Nielsen homered. Jason Neville had 2 hits for Waubonsie Valley (9-3, 4-2).

Wheaton North 11, WW South 7:

The Falcons (6-3, 2-0) broke out to an 8-1 lead and held on to win in the DuPage Valley Conference. Ryan Muehlfelt, Zach Colangelo and Casey Becker combined for 10 hits and 6 RBI at the top of the order. Winning pitcher Sam Lawrence and James Holm combined on the mound. Paul Monaco and Jack Graham each drove in 2 runs for WW South (3-5, 1-4).

Glenbard South 3, Chicago Christian 0:

Dan Opem fired a 4-hit shutout for the Raiders (5-5, 3-2) in the Metro Suburban Conference. At the top of the order, Lucas Lorusso and Christian Dupuis each had 2 hits and drove in a run.

Lisle 19, Streator 1:

The Lions (6-7, 2-1) cruised to the Interstate Eight Conference victory after scoring 12 runs in the third inning. Winning pitcher David White went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI.

St. Francis 5, DeLaSalle 3:

Brett Whelton went 2-for-3 with a homer and 2 RBI for the Spartans (11-1, 3-1) in the Chicago Catholic League win. J.P. Clifford was the winning pitcher.

Metea Valley 6, Neuqua Valley 4:

The Mustangs (6-4, 3-3) scored all their runs in the first two innings of the DuPage Valley Conference win. Winning pitcher Blake Nicolls and Jack Feeley each had 2 RBI. James Gargano went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI for Neuqua Valley (5-4, 3-3).

Addison Trail 8, Elgin 2:

The Blazers (3-5) took control of the nonconference game by scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the third. Ricky Perez went 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI while Simon Marinelli and Angelo Feola had 2 hits. Jack Kalbas notched the win and Alex Neri pitched 2 innings for the save.

Glenbard East 6, Elk Grove 4:

Winning pitcher Joey Moore, Richard Masciopinto and Joe Campos all had 2 hits as the Rams (6-3) won in nonconference action.

Hinsdale Central 5, Willowbrook 2:

Andrew Zapka drove in 2 runs and Eric Stephens won on the mound for the Red Devils (7-2).
