'Cats' opens Friday at Cutting Hall in Palatine
ArtReach Educational Theatre is staging the musical "Cats" April 15-23 at Cutting Hall, 150 E. Wood St. in Palatine.
The play by Andrew Lloyd Webber is based on "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" by T.S. Eliot and tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they make what is known as "the Jellicle choice" and decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.
Shows will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Fridays, April 15 and 22, and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 16 and 23. Tickets are $18 in advance and $20 at the door. The cast includes Abbi Adjei-Perberg (of Hainesville) as Grizabella, Tony Uzzle (of Algonquin) as Old Deuteronomy, Jonah Parra (of Chicago) as Munkustrap, Dan Walsh (of Chicago) as Rum Tum Tugger, Madalyn Griseto (of Des Plaines) as Demetur, Dominique Buonicore (of Berwyn) as Bombalurina, Trisha Tucker (of Schaumburg) as Jenny Any-Dots, Gia Russo (of Oak Brook) as Victoria, Brianna Watson (of Des Plaines) as Cassandtra, Rose Gould (of Palatine) as Mistofolees, Daniel Rau (of Palatine) as Bustopher Jones, and Julian Trujillo (of Palatine) as Macavity.
Sharing the roles of Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer are Max Gould (of Palatine), Nathan King (of Palatine), Zoe Morehead (of Rolling Meadows), and Morgan Spaeth (of Barrington).
Sharing the role of Skimbleshanks are Kevin Foss (of Palatine) and Sam Gould (of Palatine). Sharing the role of Jellylorium are Jodie Lloyd (of Itasca) and Ingrid Richard-Flechtenmacher (of Winnetka). Sharing the role of Jemima are Brigitte Cueter (of Mount Prospect) and Amani Bhagwakar (of Palatine).
The production is being directed by Dan Walsh (of Chicago), with musical direction by Jessica Harrigan Texidor (of Chicago).
