Glenbard West 10-0, Lyons Twp. 8-10:
The Hilltoppers (2-6, 1-2) scored the game-winning runs in the ninth inning of the continuation of last week's West Suburban Silver game. Cole Brady's RBI double drove in the go-ahead run and D.J. Ficarella added an RBI single. Kevin Spencer went 4-for-5 while Zach Lutz, Sam Kaske and Brady had 3 hits apiece.
Benet 5, West Aurora 1:
The Redwings (3-4) scored 4 go-ahead runs in the bottom of the sixth in the nonconference victory. After Jake Barnhart's run-scoring groundout, Bobby Ernsting and Tyler Bautista added RBI singles. Pat Barron picked up the win in relief.
Lake Park 18, WW South 5:
An 8-run fifth inning and a 6-run sixth broke open the DuPage Valley Conference victory for the Lancers (7-1, 3-1). Connor Cook and Joe Kennedy each had 3 hits and 2 RBI. Winning pitcher Jim McDonald struck out seven and scattered 3 hits in 6 innings.
Waubonsie Valley 9, Glenbard North 1:
Nick Price and winning pitcher Jason Neville each had 3 of Waubonsie Valley's 14 hits in the DuPage Valley Conference win. Neville and Brandon Petersen drove in 2 runs for the Warriors (8-2, 3-1). Zach Heck went 2-for-3 with a run scored for Glenbard North (2-8, 0-3).
Naperville North 3, Metea Valley 2:
A complete-game pitching effort from Matt Schwartz powered the Huskies (3-4, 1-1) to victory in the DuPage Valley Conference. Jack Ginzkey, who drove in 2 runs, and Brennan Simek went 2-for-3. Blake Honda and Bobby Fahrenkopf had 2 hits for Metea Valley (4-4, 1-3).
Neuqua Valley 7, Naperville Central 3:
The Wildcats (5-2, 3-1) evened the DuPage Valley Conference series after scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the first. Jack Bastable homered and drove in 3 runs. Eric Nelson added 2 RBI in support of complete-game winner Connor Rektorski. Michael Nerger went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI for Naperville Central (8-3, 2-1).
Lisle 11, Seneca 8:
Alec Van Volkenburg went 3-for-5 while winning pitcher Christian Grego, Damien Guerrero and Drew English had 2 RBI apiece for the Lions (4-7, 1-1) in the Interstate Eight Conference win.
St. Francis 6, Wheaton Academy 0:
Ryan Hodgett and Connor Quinn combined on a 5-hitter with 9 strikeouts and no walks for the Spartans (9-1). Tim Lilly and Cameron McNamara each drove in 2 runs.
Wheaton North 7, Conant 6:
Trailing 6-5, the Falcons (5-2) scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to win the nonconference matchup. Zach Colangelo and Ben Leander had 2 RBI. Ryan Muehlfelt won in relief.
Timothy Christian 3, Elmwood Park 2:
The Trojans (6-3, 3-0) tied the Metro Suburban Conference game in the bottom of the seventh and won it in the eighth on Noah Marerra's RBI single. Patrick Roelofs was the complete-game winner.
Downers North 9, York 1:
Brendan Shanahan, Tyler Rosen and Nolan Young all drove in 2 runs as the Trojans (4-6, 2-0) won in the West Suburban Silver. Rosen also won on the mound.
Downers South 8, Leyden 6:
The Mustangs (6-2, 3-0), trailing 6-4 heading to the bottom of the sixth, pulled out the West Suburban Gold win by rallying with 4 runs. Jack Villa and Brett Riegler both had 2 hits. Cameron Crowley won in relief of Tyler McCulloch.
