Takeda achieves conservation certification

Takeda Pharmaceuticals U.S.A. Inc. has achieved conservation certification of its 70-acre U.S. campus in Deerfield by Conserve Lake County, a 21-year-old nonprofit organization that administers the region's Conservation@Home program. Protection of the site's natural areas, reduced use of lawn chemicals and incorporation of native trees into the landscaping contributed to the 100 points needed for certification. Through Conservation@Home, homeowners and property managers can receive recommendations for projects from sustainable landscape professionals, such as ways to approach water issues and healthy lawn care. Call (847) 548-5989, ext. 34, or visit ConserveLakeCounty.org.
