Sandy Hook first responder, author to speak in Schaumburg

Ginger Sanders, a first responder to the Sandy Hook School tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, will be the featured speaker during the American Christian Fiction Writers meeting at 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 15, at the Schaumburg Township District Library.

A member of Billy Graham's Rapid Response Team, Sanders has been a first responder to many of the nation's natural and man-made disasters. Her presentation, "Listening and Responding to God the Author," will demonstrate how God shows up for people during the worst experiences of their lives.

Sanders will explain how her experiences as a first responder have affected her writing. Her book "He Goes Before Us" will be available for purchase and signing.

The event, which is free to ACFW Chicago members and $5 for nonmembers, will take place in the kidsZone Program Room of the library, 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg. For more information about ACFW Chicago, visit facebook.com/acfwchicago.
