Hersey hosting Chicagoland Invitational Concert Band Festival

A record 45 student bands will perform Saturday, April 16 at the 16th annual Chicagoland Invitational Concert Band Festival at John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights.

The festival will feature high school and middle school bands from across the Midwest, showcasing outstanding high school musicians in a non-competitive environment.

Performing bands will receive feedback from renowned clinicians and judges, and exposure to universities, instrument companies, band camps, and others to assist them in making choices for their future in music and education.

There also will be a feature performance by the Naperville Municipal Band under the direction of conductors Ron Keller and Rene Rosas.

The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at John Hersey High School, 1900 E. Thomas St., Arlington Heights. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, or a maximum of $25 per family (up to two adults and two or more children). Children under 5 are free.
