CLC presents Fear No Art festival

The 18th Annual Fear No Art, a show that features an eclectic array of dance forms, plus vocalists, poets and visual artists, will be presented by the College of Lake County at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23, in the Mainstage Theatre of the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake.

Fear No Art will include original choreography by CLC dance students, set to music composed by artists such as Adam Lambert, A Fine Frenzy, Melissa Etheridge, Elizaveta and Chambermaid Swing.

The student choreographers are Amy Cole, Josa Comstock, Sacha Dill, Sue Lee, Anna Erdman, Elise Kolterman and Dani Oilschlager.

The show will featured dancers Nelson Arizmendi, Je'Quil Ashford, Marissa Barnette, Josa Comstock, Brandi Cote, Amy Cole, Becky DeRosa, Sacha Dill, Anna Erdman, Trillium Falotico, Shayna Friedman, Ashley Hoffman, Jamie Jungenberg, Chris Kappil, Lamaiya Lancaster, Angie Leone, Becka Nieder, Jose Nieto III, Jeannine Potter, Haley Reckling, Kat Rickel, Ericka Ryglowski, Sara Schoenberger, Daijana Steverson, Michelle Stone, Lexie Van Skyock and Caitlin Wolfe; and musicians/vocalists Charlotte Lichter, Mikey Barker, Marilyn Runde, Ela Winnett, Olivia Love and K.C. Phelan.

Original poetry will be presented by Caitlin Cappitelli Cone.

In the lobby, three visual artists will display their work: Marissa Barnette (painting, pencil, chalk), Caitlin Cappitelli Cone (graphite drawings) and Rob Hassan (mixed media, 3-D computer graphics, acrylic paint).

The production team includes artistic director Valerie Alpert, stage manager Matthew Bearor, technical coordinator Jeremy Eiden, sound engineer Brian Scocchera and lighting designer Margaret Nelson.

Tickets are $12 for regular admission; $10 for seniors, CLC students and staff and JLC subscribers; and $5 for children younger than 12. Children's tickets must be purchased with adult tickets. Prices include a $2 JLC facility fee.
