Chicago Bandits coach, assistant return for 2016 season

Chicago bandits head coach Michael Steuerwald and assistant coach Roman Foore will return for the 2016 season, general manager Aaron M. Moore announced Monday.

It will mark Steuerwald's fourth season in charge of the National Pro FastPitch team, and Foore's third with the Rosemont-based Bandits.

"He (Steuerwald) brings a wealth of experience and does an outstanding job on everything, both on and off the field," Moore said.

Steuerwald has a career record of 92-48, including a 31-17 record in 2015. The Bandits won their third Cowles Cup with a sweep of the USSSA Pride in the championship series.

Foore is serving in his second season as the assistant coach for Bethel University softball in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The Bandits open their season on June 2 against the Scrap Yard Dawgs at The Ballpark at Rosemont.
