Marmion's National Honor Society donates 1,000 books

Two Aurora grade schools, St. Peter Catholic School and St. Therese of Jesus School, each received an unanticipated donation of 500 children's books from Marmion Academy's National Honor Society.

Approximately 1,000 new and gently used children's books were collected during the book drive conducted by Marmion's National Honor Society Feb. 23.

The 51-member society, moderated by Marmion English teacher Maura Purse, held the drive to perform a service for the community that aligned with the NHS values of scholarship, leadership, service and character.

Marmion Academy is a Catholic college-preparatory high school for boys operated by the Benedictine priests and brothers of Marmion Abbey. For more information on Marmion Academy, visit www.marmion.org.
