Police say Bartlett man pointed gun at family member, fired into floor

A Bartlett man is facing charges of reckless discharge of a firearm and aggravated assault after police say he fired a bullet from a handgun into the floor during a domestic dispute at his home.

Bartlett police said officers responded to a call regarding a discharged firearm on the 900 block of Mable Lane at 7:45 p.m. Monday.

According to police, Patrick S. Bailey, 49, pointed the handgun, with an activated laser sight, at a family member before firing into the floor during "a scuffle." Neither Bailey nor the family member were injured, police said.

Bailey was taken to the Cook County jail and is awaiting a bond hearing, according to police.
