Man jailed again for posing as Chicago police officer

CHICAGO (AP) - A Chicago man who as a 14-year-old posed as a police officer and fooled officers into letting him drive a squad car has received an 18-month prison sentence for again impersonating an officer.

Twenty-two-year-old Vincent Richardson pleaded guilty Tuesday to impersonating a police officer.

Richardson was arrested in May 2015 after authorities say police stopped the SUV he was driving and found him wearing a "police-style" bulletproof vest and with a "replica firearm" in his waistband. Richardson told police he had the items, along with a police scanner, because he worked as a security guard.

In 2009, Richardson walked into a police station dressed as an officer, went on patrol and even helped with an arrest.

In 2013, he was accused of impersonating a peace officer to buy police clothing.
