'Wimpy Kid,' 'Treehouse' authors team up for Naperville visit

New York Times best-selling children's authors Jeff Kinney (“Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series) and Andy Griffiths (“The Treehouse” series) will team up to discuss their books and meet with fans Monday, May 2, in Naperville.

The event, hosted by Anderson's Bookshop of Naperville, will be at 6 p.m. Monday, May 2, at the Yellow Box Auditorium at Community Christian Church, 1635 Emerson Lane, Naperville. It's part of a five-week world book tour for Griffiths' newest title, “The 52-Story Treehouse,” the fourth in the “Treehouse” series, to be released in April.

Books will be pre-signed, and there will be opportunities to take photos with both authors.

Kinney's “Wimpy Kid” series follows the often-embarrassing adventures of middle schooler Greg Heffley and his sometimes eccentric family and friends. There are 10 original and two specialty “Wimpy Kid” books that have been published in 45 languages. The 11th “Wimpy Kid” title will be released on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

The “Treehouse” series, illustrated by Terry Denton, originated in Australia, where it is a national best-seller. In Griffiths' newest title, friends Andy and Terry work on their next novel while up to their usual comical antics.

Tickets start at $21 and are available at jeffandandy.brownpapertickets.com. For more information, visit andersonsbookshop.com.
