Des Plaines District 62 hires four new administrators
Des Plaines Elementary School District 62 has hired four new administrators, including a permanent principal for Orchard Place Elementary School.
Jennifer Suarez Bautista, a bilingual school psychologist and interim co-principal at Orchard Place, has been named the school's permanent principal. She stepped into the interim role last year after Jose Celis was hired for the job but backed out citing family reasons before he started.
Suarez Bautista will be paid $95,000 a year.
Michael Vilendrer was named the new director of operations, maintenance, and transportation. He currently serves as director of operations at Hinsdale Elementary School District 181, and previously was assistant director of building and grounds in Barrington Area Unit School District 220. He replaces John Pahlman, who recently was hired as director of operations for Niles Township High School District 219.
Vilendrer will be paid $110,000 a year.
Jennifer Bova will become the district's new director of community relations, replacing Mindy Ward, who retires June 30.
Bova has been the public information specialist for Woodland Elementary School District 50 in Gurnee since 2004. She will be paid $90,000 a year.
Stacy LaMarca was named a district student support services coordinator. She is the developmental learning program supervisor in the Eisenhower Cooperative, a South suburban special education program. She will be paid $80,000 a year.
All officially start their new positions July 1, except Vilendrer, who starts April 11. The appointments were approved at a school board meeting Monday.
