Baseball: Wauconda blanks Woodstock

Drake Berman earned the win, Jake Grobelny had 4 hits and 3 RBI, and Wauconda's baseball team shut out Woodstock 7-0 on Saturday.

Grobelny doubled in the third inning, tripled in the fifth and singled in the first and sixth innings.

Woodstock managed just 1 hit off Berman, who walked none and struck out seven in 5 innings.

Wauconda scored twice in the first on a pair of singles.

Waukegan 6, Antioch 4: The Sequoits lost the nonconference game, despite a strong effort on the mound from Ben Gutke.

Gutke allowed no earned runs over 5 innings. He gave up 5 hits while walking one and striking out six.

Antioch's offensive highlights included a steal of home by John Petty.
