Well-documented flaws in Obamacare

A recent letter to the Daily Herald by Larry Bahr must be responded to.

First of all, why shouldn't members of Congress be subjected to the same laws they impose on all American citizens? If they don't feel they should be a part of a law that Congress passes, then don't impose it on the citizenry.

Second, Republicans voted against that much-flawed piece of legislation because of its many defects. For example, many people ended up being dropped because the law that was supposed to help them didn't, many patients could not keep their doctors (although Obama was quoted to the contrary), and many states did not want to join the so-called cooperatives. (Cooperatives? A new name for a federal mandate!)

Third, premiums skyrocketed and many people could not afford the coverage.

Fourth, it imposed very heavy employer requirements, which led to work hours being reduced so employers could stay in business. Employees lost out due to Democrat lies and demagoguery. Business owners faced financial disaster from Obamacare's monetary mandates.

Fifth, the Democrats controlled Congress when Obamacare was passed. If something in that law was too onerous for them, why didn't they change whatever they found to be unacceptable? Oh, was it because Nancy Pelosi said, "we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy."

The controversy being the Democrats ramming it down America's throat! Without discussion! And, even more absurdly, passing it to find out what was in it?
