Reick leads in House 63rd District Republican race

Steven Reick took an early lead in the House 63rd District Republican primary Tuesday.

Unofficial results with some early votes counted and 22 of the 73 precincts reporting show Reick garnered 7,623 votes while Jeffery Lichte received 5,352 votes.

Reick, a Harvard tax attorney, ran in 2014 for the 63rd House District against longtime Democratic incumbent state Rep. Jack Franks and lost.

Lichte, of McHenry, is a member of Franks' 2015 fundraising host committee.

The winner will face Franks, of Marengo, in November.

The district includes all or parts of Alden, Greenwood, Harvard, Hebron, Johnsburg, Marengo, McCullom Lake, McHenry, Pistakee Highlands, Richmond, Ringwood, Union, Wonder Lake and Woodstock.
