Spring on the Chicago Flyway

Learn about migrating birds Thursday, March 17, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods, 21850 N. Riverwoods Road, Riverwoods. In spring, millions of birds representing hundreds of species migrate through the Chicago area on the way to their nesting grounds. Many of them stop at local forest preserves or even in your backyard. This program by Rena Cohen, president of the Lake-Cook Chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society, will showcase some of the stars of the show, explain when and where to look for them, and demonstrate the diversity of avian life you can find without leaving home. Cohen has been the president of the Lake-Cook Chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society, the largest chapter in the state, since 2008. There is no admission charge, but space is limited. Register at www.BrushwoodCenter.org or call (847) 968-3344.
