Dist. 21 official goes to Dist. 207

Maine Township High School District 207 has hired Jason Klein to become its next assistant superintendent of technology and learning, beginning July 1.

Klein, currently chief information officer for Wheeling Township Elementary School District 21, will replace Hank Thiele, who this summer will become the new superintendent of Downers Grove High School District 99.

Klein has spent the last two decades in District 21 as a teacher, dean of students and principal, and since 2007, chief information officer in charge of instructional technology. District 207 Superintendent Ken Wallace called Klein one of the state's and nation's "top technology educators."

The school board Monday approved a three-year contract with Klein, in which he will be paid a base salary of $157,000.
