Weeklong party in Geneva leading up to St. Patrick's Day.

To get you into the spirit for St. Patrick's Day, the Claddagh Irish Pub along Randall Road in Geneva is holding a weeklong Pre-Paddy Party beginning this week and leading up to March 17 - St. Patrick's Day.

The countdown begins Friday at the restaurant and pub at 1702 Commons Drive, in the Geneva Commons Shopping Center. The week of fun starts at 7 p.m. with live music from Sonic Soul. That night there also will be a Guinness Flight promo sampling at 7 p.m. at the bar for patrons 21 and older.

The St. Patrick's weekend fun starts at noon Saturday when the band Trillium takes the stage.

There also will be Irish dancers at Claddagh performing at 5 and 7 p.m. Saturday. The Bare Hambones play their music from 8 to 10 p.m.

The live music continues with Peter and Katie at 11 a.m. Sunday, and the Irish dancers return to kick up their heels at 3 and 5 p.m.

At 4 p.m. Sunday, there will be a special jam session with Celtic Sounds. All musicians who are ready to play are invited to join in.

Even though the weekend ends, the St. Patrick's Day fun will continue at the Claddagh leading up to the 17th.

On Monday, March 14, you can get a Guinness gravity glass engraved from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Claddagh. From 7 to 9 p.m. March 15 and 16 there will be a drink promotion.

On St. Patrick's Day the Irish activities will run much of the day.

From 2 to 5 p.m. that day, Katie and Peter Whalen will play live music at the Claddagh.

To get everyone in the spirit, local Irish dancers will perform at 6 and 8 p.m.

In between and after the dancers, there will be live music from Celtic Sounds, which is scheduled to play 7 to 10 p.m.

For information on any of the events call the Claddagh at (630) 208-0337.

Hopping Ahead

Easter is 10 days after St. Patrick's Day this year. Looking ahead to that spring holiday, the folks in guest services at Algonquin Commons on Randall Road are giving your kids something to get into the Easter spirit.

All month kids can stop at guest services, between Aeropostale and Tilly's, to get a free pair of bunny ears from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays.
