Two volunteer opportunities for ecological restoration in the Libertyville area are planned. The first is 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, March 12, at Oak Openings Nature Preserve, on the east side of Route 45 north of Casey Road, where cutting invasive brush will be thrust of a collaborative effort between Conserve Lake County and Libertyville Township. The second is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, at Casey Farm, west of Route 21 and south of Casey Road, where the Lake County Forest Preserve District in collaboration with Conserve Lake County will host a restoration workday to cut invasive brush near the Casey Trail. Contact Greg Rajsky, director, member services (847) 548-5989 x30 or grajsky@conservelakecounty.org) to volunteer for one or both events.
