Fall in upper Minnesota can be spectacular. This is a quiet evening on Pine Lake in Whipholt, MN. A breeze in the air, the sun showing off its colors at day's end, and the sounds of the forest came together for an inspiring outing on the lake. Do I really have to come in? Tony Lyons of Wheaton

I am an 8th grader at Hubble Middle School. I took this photo on North beach in Chicago. I like it because it captures how beautiful the city looks at night with frozen lake Michigan in front of it. I had a hard time capturing this picture because when I took the picture it was 10 degrees out. Also I had been standing out there for two hours because this is a frame from the time lapse I took. But in the end it was definitely worth it to get these incredible shots! Jack James of Wheaton
I'm an exchange student from Indonesia through the Rotary Youth Exchange Program. This is a picture that I took at the quarry, where the paddle bots are in the summer, next to the river walk. What I really like from this picture is it really shows the calmness of the winter season but also shows how strong can it be, because it can freeze the top of a vast quarry. And I really like the repetition and how are the lines guide you to the end of the dock. I took this picture also as an assignment for my school project, I go to Naperville Central High School, and currently taking photography digital class. My teacher assigned us for a monochromatic project by the way. I took it using a Canon 60D with wide angle lens Tokina 11-16mm, and edited it using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. Bagus Unggul Pranoto of Naperville
As you can see I love dachshunds! I made some of these dachshund candies for a superbowl party, and our doxie, Reesie, really wanted to give them the taste test. But he failed (this time)! Maralee Parker of Elgin
I took this photo of a shell that opened into the shape of a heart. My wife Joan and I were on Siesta Florida celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary which is on Valentines day. We love the fact that the shell was in the shape of a heart. I thought I extend Valentines day a little farther buy submitting this photo. Curt Sriver, of Elgin
It was a beautiful winter day when I took this photo at Point Dume State Park in Malibu, California. My family enjoyed walking the beach and admiring the sea cliffs. Robert M. Sharp of Gilberts
