Officials: Woman badly burned in fire at Buffalo Grove gas station

A woman was badly burned in a fire at a Buffalo Grove gas station late Friday afternoon, officials said.

The fire is under investigation, but Buffalo Grove police said they believe it was the result of a suicide attempt.

The Buffalo Grove Fire Department was dispatched about 4:15 p.m. to a fire near the gas pumps at the Circle K gas station, 50 W. Lake-Cook Road. When the Buffalo Grove battalion chief arrived at 4:18 p.m., he found a woman around 40 with extensive burns to her body, officials said in a news release.

Paramedics took the woman to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

The fire at the gas station was under control within minutes.
