Naperville schools increase tech fee

The junior high technology fee in Naperville Unit District 203 is increasing beginning next school year to $50 from $29 to support purchase of Chromebooks for all students in sixth, seventh and eighth grades.

Chromebooks will be distributed for use in school and at home during the second year of the district's digital learning initiative. To support the first year of the initiative, the district increased the high school technology fee to $50 before this school year.

Students will use Google Apps for Education on their new devices as teachers use them to increase student engagement, collaboration and research skills.
