Elk Grove pediatrics group gets federal funding for prevention program

The Elk Grove Village-based American Academy of Pediatrics has obtained $1,176,800 in federal funding to help implement the Bright Futures Pediatric program.

The program brings together parents, health care professionals and community advocates to help provide comprehensive health care plans and resources for children and support parents in making informed decisions about the preventive health needs of their children.

The funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration, which helps provide resources for family health services targeted to low-income, uninsured and underserved communities, was announced by U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth.
