Lincolnshire library hosts musical about American history

Students in grades 2 through 8 were treated to an hourlong Presidents Day show called "Celebration USA! The Musical," at the Vernon Area Public Library.

The theatrical group Stars Within Reach, based out of New York City, made a stop Monday at the Lincolnshire library.

"It's a musical review that takes us on a trip through the United States and through history using American music. It's really a celebration of all thing America," actor Casey Wood said.

The acting troop danced and sang their way through the history of the United States as a slideshow and video played behind them.

The high-energy musical explored defining eras in American culture, from past to present, with a mix of classic and original tunes.
