Low Cost Smart Choice MRI to Open Schaumburg Clinic Feb. 15

Smart Choice MRI, the first MRI provider in the country to offer high quality GE magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs) to all patients for an affordable rate of $600 or less--more than $2,000 less expensive than the national average--will open its first Chicago-area clinic Monday, February 15, in Schaumburg at 1406 North Meacham Road. Patients can schedule appointments online at www.smartchoicemri.com or by calling 844-633-3674.

"We're excited to be opening our doors in Schaumburg and proud to continue to provide the highest level of MRI care at an industry-leading, affordable price to every patient," said Rick Anderson, CEO. "The changes in our healthcare system have fueled more educated consumers. They know they have a choice-and we appreciate it when they choose us. Cost, quality and value have never been more important."

The average MRI cost is $2,611 nationally, according to NerdWallet Health, the personal finance website, which analyzed outpatient data from Medicare. All Smart Choice MRIs are read by board-certified radiologists at the Cleveland Clinic, consistently ranked among the nation's best hospitals by U.S. News & World Report.

The Mequon, WI, based Smart Choice MRI, recently announced raising $6.5 million in growth capital that is fueling a national expansion starting in Chicago. A total of four clinics will open during the first half of this year: Schaumburg (Feb. 15), Glenview (March 1), Skokie (March 21) and Chicago (April 25).
