Stevenson set for Michigan football date

Stevenson's football team will face a Michigan powerhouse in a nonconference matchup during the Labor Day weekend this fall.

The Patriots will travel to Muskegon for a game on Saturday, Sept. 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Lincolnshire time, following the sophomore game. The Big Reds were 9-3 last year and reached the Michigan equivalent of the state semifinals in their division. Muskegon won the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 state championship in 2008 and was runner-up in 2012 and 2013.

Stevenson will play host to the Big Reds during the 2017 season.

This will not be the first time Stevenson plays an out-of-state football game. In 2013, the Patriots opened their season against Indian Trail in Kenosha, Wis.
