Two Metra's UP West Line trains canceled for this morning

Two Metra Union Pacific West Line trains have been canceled for today's morning rush, but officials estimate the service - disrupted as a result of a fire on Tuesday - will be back to normal by midday. Riders encountered delays and some trains being canceled for the afternoon rush yesterday as workers repaired signals and switches knocked out by Tuesday's electrical fire. Full story.

President Barack Obama spent time with old friends - and name-checked others - as he came to Springfield a month before Illinois' primary election to speak about bipartisanship in front of a politically fractured state legislature. In his address to the General Assembly, Obama said he regretted his failure to apply to Washington politics the lessons he said he learned about working with lawmakers across the aisle when he was a state senator. Aurora drug dealer sentenced to 20 years

An Aurora man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for possessing more than $1 million worth of cocaine. Jesus Montes, 45, agreed to the sentence in exchange for a guilty plea to unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, according to a news release from the Kane County state's attorney's office. Body confirmed to be missing Arlington Heights man's

The Cook County medical examiner will perform an autopsy this morning after a body found yesterday morning in a forest preserve near Barrington Hills was confirmed as that of Tim Anderson, an Arlington Heights resident and father of two who went missing Monday. Anderson's body was found by forest preserve personnel about 10:20 a.m., according to a spokeswoman for the Cook County sheriff's office. Full story.

In Illinois high school swimming coach of the year honors for the 2014-15 school year, it was a clean sweep for the Mid-Suburban League. Rolling Meadows coach Monika Chiappetta was tabbed for her efforts with the Mustangs' boys team, while Barrington coach Jim Bart was likewise honored for his work with the Fillies' girls squad.
