Wheeling home invasion suspect caught in Mexico

A man wanted in a Wheeling home invasion has been caught in Mexico and returned to Cook County Thursday to face charges, sheriff's officials say.

Steve Chung, 28, formerly of Des Plaines, was one of two people charged after a victim was held at gunpoint and beaten during a 2014 home invasion. An arrest warrant was issued in June 2015 after he stopped coming to court.

Wheeling police, the Cook County sheriff's office and the FBI worked together to discover Chung teaching online classes while living in Guadalajara, Mexico.

On Wednesday, Mexican immigration officials arrested him in Guadalajara. He arrived at Midway airport Thursday and was immediately taken into custody.
