Learn about women of Civil War Feb. 18 in Hoffman Estates
The Village of Hoffman Estates Arts Commission will present a dramatic review of Cokie Roberts' new book, "Capital Dames: The Civil War and the Women of Washington," by actress Jenny Riddle.
The event will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, in the Ed & Mary Hennessy Room at village hall, 1900 Hassell Road in Hoffman Estates.
No registration is needed. Admission is free, and light refreshments will be served.
The book presents a riveting look at Washington, D.C., during the Civil War through Riddle's dramatization of the experiences and contributions of women during the period. For more information, call Sue Lessen at (847) 781-2606.
