A million meals for starving children at fifth annual FMSC Feed the Need! MobilePack

In just 36 hours, more than 5,000 area volunteers will pack more than a million lifesaving meals for starving children in the developing world at the Feed the Need! MobilePack, to be held Feb. 20-21 at North Central College in Naperville.

Feed The Need! is a coalition of DuPage area churches, civic organizations, schools, community groups and individuals that organize and fund the annual MobilePack event. Now in its fifth year, Feed The Need! volunteers have packed a total of 1.9 million meals.

"We invite everyone to join us for an unforgettable weekend of hands-on generosity where you can act locally to fight hunger globally," says Bob Huebner, co-founder of Feed the Need! Individuals and groups can volunteer for the MobilePack event online at www.fmsc.org/volunteer.

North Central College is hosting and participating and Feed the Need! has dozens of partners and sponsors, including churches, businesses and civic groups. More sponsor and partner support is needed to provide funding for additional meals, says Huebner. For more information, visit www.feedtheneedillinois.org or www.fmsc.org.

Feed the Need! is also working with Loaves & Fishes Food pantry, www.loaves-fishes.org, and asks that volunteers bring nonperishable food to help restock the pantry. Collection bins will be available at registration.
