Join 'Valentine's Day Love Nature Celebration'

Spend Valentine's Day afternoon with your loved ones, while celebrating your love of nature.

Come to McHenry County Conservation District's "Valentine's Day Love Nature Celebration" from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, at Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road, Crystal Lake.

This free event will offer an array of activities for all ages including a special performance of "A Valentine to the Earth," a guided hike, crafts, games, music and of course some sweet treats.

At 2:30 p.m., there will be "A Valentine to the Earth: Stories and Songs For Kids, About Loving and Caring for the Planet," with Clare Norelle. Make your own bird feeder workshop at 2:15, 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. There is a limited supply of bird feeders available. Sign up for a workshop time slot at 2 p.m., first-come, first-served.

At 4 p.m., join a guided woodland hike in search of animal signs.

Dress for the weather for hiking and outside activities. No registration is necessary. Stop in for a little while, or stay the entire time to celebrate the lives of the wildlife you love.
